COMPOSITION: Each ml contains Oxytetracycline...........50mg (ACT.)
DESCRIPTION: Oxytetracycline belongs to the group of tetracyclines and acts bacteriostatic against many Gram-positive and Gram-negative bacteria like Bordetella, Campylobacter, Chlamydia, E. coli, Haemophilus, Mycoplasma, Pasteurella, Rickettsia, Salmonella, Staphylococcus and Streptococcus spp. The action of oxytetracycline is based on inhibition of bacterial protein synthesis. Oxytetracycline is mainly excreted in urine, for a small part in bile and in lactating animals in milk.
INDICATIONS: Equine, cattle, sheep,goat,pig and dog: infectious disease due to germs sensitive to oxytetracycline(respiratory, gentio-urinary and septicaemic forms).
CONTRA-INDICATION: Hypersensitivity to tetracyclines. Administration to animals with a seriously impaired renal and/or liver function. Concurrent administration of penicillines, cephalosporines, quinolones and cycloserine. SIDE EFFECTS: After intramuscular administration local reactions can occur, which disappear in a few days. Discoloration of teeth in young animals. Hypersensitivity reactions.
DOSAGE AND ADMINISTRATION: For intramuscular or subcutaneous injection. Cattle and Horse: 4-10ml per 100kg b.w. Pig, Sheep and Lamb: 0.5-1ml per 5pk b.w. Poultry:1-2ml per hen.
