Ciprofloxacin soluble powder is a broad-spectrum fluoroquinolone antibiotic kills bacteria and hence, prevent infections.
Administered to a variety of animal species and is used to treat a wide range of infections. Most commonly, ciprofloxacin veterinary use treats cats and dogs for lower respiratory tract infections, skin infections, and urinary tract infections.
Ciprofloxacin soluble powder is for veterinary purposes only, and whilst there are types available for human use, you should only use the kind that has been prescribed by a veterinary doctor or animal care specialist for an animal.
Dogs
10 to 12 mg per pound per day (20 to 25 mg/kg per day) orally.
The total daily dose can be divided and given every 12 hours.
Cats
10 to 12.5 mg per pound (20 to 25 mg/kg) orally or intravenously once daily. The total daily dosage can also be divided (split) and given every 12 hours.
Side Effects:
As with all veterinary medicine, some unwanted effects can occur from the use of Ciprofloxacin. Always consult a veterinary physician or animal care specialist for medical advice before use.
The other effects of the medicine might lead to damage of the cartilage joints. Swollen joints and lameness are clinical signs that may be observed.
Ciprofloxacin may result in loss of appetite, vomiting, diarrhea, lethargy, convulsions, seizures in pets with CNS disorders, and cataracts if given long-term
