COMPOSITION:
Albendazole ......................250mg
Excipient q.s.f.......................7grams
PROPERTIES:
Albendazole is one of the broadest spectrum anthelminthic. It is equally effective against Nematodes(both adult and larval forms),Cestodes(both heads and segments) and Trematodes(mature flukes only).It is also ovicidal and reduces environment contamination.
INDICATIONS:
Cattle,sheep,goats
Albendazole bolus 250 is effective of prevention and treatment against:
-Gastro-intestinal worms:
Haemonchus,Ostertagia,Trichostrongylus,Strongloides,Bunostomum,Cooperia,Nematodirus,Chabertia,Oesophagostomum,Toxocara.
-Lungworms:Dictyocaulus,Muellerius,Protostrongylus,Neosrongylus,Cystocaulus.
-Tapeworms: Moniezia spp.
-Mature flukes:Fasciola spp,Dicrocoelium,Lanceolatum.
ADMINSTRATION AND DOSAGE:
Oral route
-Cattle:
-General dosage:1 bolus per 35kg body weight(7.5mg albendazole per kg body weight).
-For the treatment of mature fluke infection and Ostertagiasis type:the dose must be one bolus per 25kg body weight (10mg albendazole per kg body weight).
-Sheep and goats:
-General dosage is a quarter of tablet for 12kg body weight (5mg albendazole /kg body weight)
-For the treatment of mature fluke infection and protostrongylosis,the dose must be increased up to one half bolus for 15kg body weight(7.5mg albendazole per kg body weight).
PRECAUTIONS:
-Albendazole is generally not recommended during the first third of pregnancy.
-Keep out of reach of children and uninformed persons.
-pregnant women should not come in contact with the drug.
STORAGE:
Keep the product in a dry place protected from light.
WITHDRAWAL PERIOD:
Meat: 7days
Milk:2 days(4 milkings)
